Pig Candy

Time to go over the top with your bacon! It’s Pig Candy time. ¬†Sprinkle it on desserts, serve it in salad, this stuff goes with everything, except eggplant, nothing goes with that s#%t.

Sweet crispy bacon candy.

Ingredients

  • 10 thin slices Bacon (Good quality)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Sugar

Directions

Step 1.
Get your smoker nice and hot - around 350 degrees F.
Step 2.
Whisk together Cayenne and Brown Sugar
Step 3.
Lay bacon strips on cookie cooling rack (leaving space between them to let the air circulate).
Step 4.
Generously sprinkle bacon with brown sugar and "bake" for 15 minutes. Brown sugar will melt and caramelize. After 15 minutes spoon on maple syrup and sprinkle on Maple Sugar. Cook another 5-7 minutes until syrup sets.
Step 5.
Flip bacon and repeat step 4.
Step 6.
Let cool then refrigerate. Let the pig candy overdose begin!
